Pulsed Doppler radar receiver system - has noise signal suppression circuit with target threshold amplitude detection and range noise detection

A circuit for suppression of noise signals in pulse Doppler radar receivers with permanent echo suppression and several channels each corresp. to distance measurement ranges suppresses intermittent line noise or jamming noise covering several channels or distance ranges whilst maintaining high receiver sensitivity. An evaluation circuit using an intermediate store forms the difference or quotient of the signal amplitude of each channel and that of the previously scanned channel to produce reference signals. These are interpreted using a two-level threshold switch for amplitude detection of real target signals. Signals occurring in a given number of channels are interpreted as noise.
