The wing extension for a glider consists of a triangular flap of dense synthetic-fibre fabric with non-elastic netting woven-in. The flap is mounted on rollers with check-springs, in both sides of the fuselage. The flap is connected by its apex to a slider which runs on steel rails secured along the edges of the fixed wings, propelled by a manually-operated screwjack. A stabilising line extending from the tail, carrying profiled plastic strips and weights, is operated simultaneously by the same mechanism.
