Used moulding sand regeneration - utilising ascending air stream protecting sand through expansion space before impinging on disc

Used moulding sand in foundries is regenerated by a pneumatic system in a rising air stream inside a tube. The sand laden air passes through an expansion space with a length of over 3(5) times the tube diameter before the sand particles impinge on an impact disc which causes the larger particles to drop back into the air stream. This repeated cleaning action removes incrustations so that the laterally escaping sand is fit for re-use.
