Substd. imidazolylthiazolyl methane derivs. of formula (I) and their physiologically acceptable acid addition salts are new. In (I) R is opt. substd. Ph or furyl; R' and R2 are each H, alkyl or opt. substd. Ph or together with the thiazole ring form a benzthiazole gp.; X is alkyl, halogen, haloalkyl or Ph; m is 0 or 1; and n is 0, 1, 2, or 3. (I) have strong antimycotic properties. (I) have a very broad spectrum of activity and are esp. effective against dermatophytes and budding fungi as well as against biphasic fungi, e.g. against Candida, Epidermophyton, Aspergillus, Trichophyton, Microsporon and Penicillium. (I) can be used in human and veterinary medicine to treat dermatomycoses and systemmykoses. Suitable daily doses are 10-300 (pref. 50-200 mg/kg.
