The solar heating system has a heat collector unit in which a black or dark coloured fluid flows behind one or more transparent layers, acting as the heat transfer medium. The container (3) for the fluid can be transparent tube with coils formed as one or more layers. The interior of the tube has an integral coating which acts as a heat absorber, and cannot be separated from the tube. The tube forms a closed circuit for connection to a heat exchanger (7) and a heat pump (8). Mounted over the top of the housing is a convex collect or, which can form the tube. The liquid is protected against freezing.
