A transparent cover (3) is provided in the push-button (1) in front of a LED (2). Its convex smooth surface (4) faces the LED, and a plane light emergent surface (5) faces outward. Its sides are inclined so that light entering through the convex surface (4) is reflected at an angle to the emergence surface. This arrangement ensures even distribution of light over the pushbutton surface despite low height. The signal surfaces can be observed over a large angle.
