The steam heated heat exchanger has tubes arranged into a cylindrical housing. The tubes for the fluids are divided into separate groups. The heat exchanger is uniformly loaded and the uniform condensing performance ensures thermal symmetry which eliminates thermal stresses. Both groups of the pipes which carry the entering and leaving fluid are arranged symmetrically for the steam inlet nozzles. A steam flow path is formed in the region of the plane of symmetry. The steam can enter the housing radially or axially.
