The errors occur in a bunch of lines connecting a peripheral with the central unit of a code convertor in a terminal station of the TDM system. This convertor carries out multiplexing and demultiplexing of the code signals transmitted from the terminal station together with speech and data signals through the TDM system. At least one time channel is the system internal channel. The part of a line bunch leading to the central unit is monitored, and this monitoring is performed during the internal time channel.
