Synthetic material for mfr. of insoles with pumping effect for ventilating footwear during, use, especially for boots or shoes composed of glued- or welded-together, only poorly permeable, or impermeable, parts is a multi-ply laminate whose plies are glued or sealed together and where each ply contributes a characteristic required to give in combination with the characteristics of the other plies, an "ideal" insole. Specifically, there are 4 plies viz. a thin leather or textile ply readily tolerated by a wearer's skin; a perforated plastics, rubber or leather ply; an open-cellular elastic, corrugated, polyurethane ply; and a flexible, dimensionally stable, flat, polyurethane ply.
