The supercharged water-cooled combustion engine (1) has an exhaust-driven water-cooled turbo-charger (10), pref. arranged at the front end of the engine, and connected to a charge air line (16). A cooling water manifold (5) connects to individual cylinder jackets and runs parallel to the line of cylinders. The supercharger is carried on a bracket (3) fixed to the engine block (2) which contains a coolant chamber (8) connecting with the manifold (5) and with the charger coolant outlet line (9). A cooland outlet (11) leads from the chamber to the thermostat and/or engine radiator. The charge air line runs through the bracket and adjacent to the chamber.
