Dry electrolytic capacitor - produced by fluidised bed dip coating and partial water bath immersion

Solid-electrolyte capacitors are produced by suspending the sintered valve metal bodies in a line at equal distances from their anode wires. They are dipped in an organic powder as used for fluidised bed dip coating or a powder suspension to coat them all over. By dipping partly into a water bath, the coating is removed except a cap which forms a cone around the anode wire when heated. This applies a plastic cone to a large number of sintered valve metal bodies in one single operation. It saves much time compared with the application of a drop of epoxy resin from a cannula.
