Die retraction device for rotary swaging machine - which uses one motor for driving main shaft and second motor driven outwards by shaft reaction forces

The machine has a main shaft fitted with a flywheel, electromagnetic coupling and brake; and the flywheel is driven by a motor to rotate the shaft. In one end of the shaft are forging dies driven radially inwards viva punches actuated by a circular row of rolles. On the other end of the shaft is a free wheel device which can be used to couple the shaft to a second motor. The second motor only has enough power to maintain the rotation of the shaft, and can be driven outwards by reaction forces created by the shaft so a switch stops the motor. The object is to rotate the shaft if the dies are locked in their inner position at the end of swaging, so the dies move radially outwards and the workpiece can be extracted.
