Demagnetising circuit for colour TV CRT - switches capacitor in parallel with demagnetising coil or to rectifier output, acting as multiplier

The demagnetising circuit has a capacitor (8) switched in parallel with the demagnetising coil (9) when the receiver is switched on, and switched to the output of a rectifier (6) when the receiver is switched off. The rectifier acts as a voltage multiplier ensuring that the capacitor's voltage is large enoung to accomplish demagnetisation. The rectifier is connected to the supply terminals (1) when the receiver is off. The capacitor can be switched by relay contacts instead of by a switch.
