摘要
A contact lens consists of a central optical part and an overlapping, scleral supporting border of soft contact lens material. In the case of negative lenses, the supporting border between the eye limbus and the optic edge is formed to a min. thickness of 9mm for a dia. of (15 + 14). The supporting border progressively increases a thickness towards the optic edge as well as in the direction of the eye limbus until shortly before actually reaching it. From this point it rapidly reduces to a min. to reach the eye limbus.
