Farmyard manure gas mfr. - using fermentation tanks and oil-sealed gas holder

A plant to produce farm yard manure gas consists of a tank with a shredder from which the manure is pumped to several fermentation containers, each equipped with a heating spiral to keep the contents at 35 degrees C. A gas holder, designed as a bell with an oil seal, holds the methane gas at a pressure of 0.02 bar. The gas is utilised in an IC engine which drives a generator; the exhaust heat is used to heat the containers and piping in case of frost. This provides cheap power for animal farms; the residue is converted to fertiliser by an algae growth technique.
