The drive-in expanding plug (1) is intended for anchoring in concrete, partic. for securing a suspended ceiling or pipes. It comprises a longidutinally slotted (4) spread sleeve (5) and a spreader (2) which has a tapering portion (3) fitting in the slot and on to which the sleeve is driven in. Suspension wires or straps are provided to fit securing elements once the plug is fitted. The sleeve consists of two axially disposed portions (5a, b) of which the outermost portion (5b) has greater hardness than the innermost (5a) The tapering spreader end may be corrugated (11) with increasingly high corrugations towards the end whilst the slot in the softer sleeve portion (5a) has a diverging ends (9).
