The two-stage rotary piston engine with parallel shafts and internal gears has a two-lobed compressor rotor and a four-lobed power rotor in a common casing divided into two chambers, with the usual porting and fuel injector. Rotor motion is controlled by teeth on externally coupled shafts engaging others inside the rotors, gearing ratios are 1:2 for the compressor, 3:4 for the power rotor. The lesser radial angle between the peripheral exhaust and transfer ports is smaller than that subtended by the tip seals of the compressor rotor.
