Adsorber vessel has a filling of adsorbent and has inlet and outlet for the medium being purified. The vessel is partitioned by a set of vertical baffles. Neighbouring partitions or groups of partitions form a zig-zag type flow path for the fluid. Passages through the baffle are provided at the top or bottom as necessary to creator the necessary flow path. At least between some of the partitions, an additional vertical baffle is provided. Corrugated type spacers are also used to ensure plug flow. Used espl for purifying gases. The baffle arrangement gives the optimum size of mint.
