Rugged optical fibre - filament coated with hexa:methyl di:silazane di:methyl polysiloxane filled di:methyl polysiloxane and silicone methyl polymer

An optical fibre is quartz glass surrounded by an optically effective polymer envelope of several layers, namely an innermost layer of a hexamethyl disilazaone monomer, an adjacent pure polydimethyl siloxane layer, next a filled polydimethyl siloxane layer, and finally an outermost silicone methyl polymer. High temperature, moisture, and physical resistance are provided.
