The semiconductor storage unit is for text processing typewriters connected to office, data, or teleprinter machines and contains semiconductor storage elements into which data are inserted via a driver and from which data are extracted via a readout unit. It enables the expense of text processor-associated storage to be minimised and the flexibility and capacity of the storage medium to be maximised. The storage unit (5) plugs into the print unit and contains the semiconductor storage elements and a temporary store loaded via connection pins. A cassette with a power supply holds storage units (5) removed from the printer.
