Each trunk awaiting measuring and marking, before cutting into different categories of timber, is conveyed on one conveyor to an inspection point overseen by one controller for measurement and another for marking. Computers cause impulses to be transmitted to two separate groups of indicators, one group indicating cutting points on the trunk for each controller, while the trunk is in its first position. Controllers assess whether adjustment is necessary and carry this out at a bench with knobs connected to the computers, values being noted for future computation. impulses are transmitted to a sawing assembly cutting the trunk which is moved from a second position to two further conveyors. Timber produced is finally transferred to separate conveyors for forwarding for further treatment.
