The parent patent described a solar collector system in which the latent heat storage device consisted of Glauber salt (Na2SO4, 10H2O contg. borax as a seed crystal nucleant, plus 2-7% of a thickener consisting of amorphous silica with max. particle size 20 nm. and a water surplus below 20%. The novelty in the present invention is that the thickener consists of a mixt. of the amorphous silica with 5-25%, pref. 10-20%, and esp. 15-17% alumina. A further improvement in the heat storage capacity of the system is obtd. due to the new thickener. The pref. amorphous silica used in the thickener possesses a water surplus of 4-12%, and esp. 6-10%. The silica and the alumina pref. have a similar particle size.
