The device for polarographic measurements on suspended mercury drops enables examination of electrode reaction products and special analysis. The device is produced with less demanding and expensive processes than required for types using a micrometer screw piston adjustment and does not suffer from leakage problems associated with them. The capillary tube on the end of which each drop is formed has a component contg. a tap or transferse blocking valve wiht an electrical or mechanical control. This interrupts the mercury flow when it is open the mercury flows at a rate dependent on the capillary dimensions. The size of the drop can be regulated by varying the valve opening time. A new drop is formed by tapping the device until the old one falls off and reopening the valve.
