The manure disposal system has gulleys under the floor into which solids and liquids fall. Barriers across the gulleys allow liquids to flow over them and pass along extensions to a collector tank. At the other ends of the gulleys are flushing tanks from which liquid can be discharged to wahs down the gulleys. A pulse operated and timed control system operates which lift or slide the barriers to allow solids to pass to the tank, further devices to discharge liquid from the flushing tanks and to operate a pump (14) inside the collector tank. Solid material settles in this tank for subsequent removal and liquid can be returned by the pump to the flushing tanks in a sequential operating system.
