In a high speed punter hammer assembly the pivoted striker armature arm is actuated by a pair of electromagnets, one positioned each side of the pivot point. Regarding two adjacent arms. magnets on the same side of the pivots are located adjacent each other the magnets on one side being of like polarity, and the magnets on the other side being of opposite polarity. An air gap between the arm and the magnets is maintained by a polyimide film 0.002 inches thick and held in place by a lacked acrylic adhesive. The lamer return plunger and the platen surface lacking the metal tape are of polytrifluorochlorethylene filled polyimide. The guide comb teeth are of filled polyphenylene sulphide resin. A decrease in cross-talk and a lubricated reduced wear action.
