Appts. for producing floor or wall panels by the process of GB 1113244, with polyester or polyether polyol and isocyanate mixt. foamed in a mould to form a thermal and sound insulating coating on a preformed unit includes a mould with its inner surface made from rigid polystyrene so that the semi-rigid foamed skin on the unit will release completely without the use of a release agent. The mould is pref. an elongate channel with U-shaped polystyrene liner having an outer limb ending in an outward flange. A batten can pref. be clamped onto the liner so that foam formed in the mould will adhere to it.
