For setting up along roads and other traffic routes, the wall affording protection from noise incorporates a series of frames held at intervals one behind the other. These frames are of elongated polygonal shape, whith long shanks set roughly upright. The framework of frames and spacers bears water-permeable walls and can support plant life, at least at the sides. The space bounded by the walls is filled with earth, and plants are set in this, passing through the wall apertures. The frames may be trapezoid, with long shankd sloping towards each other.
