The combined cycle power plant has a steam generator supplied with the exhaust from a gas turbine, the exhaust being used as combustion air. Alternatively, this exhaust is fed to atmos. When fed to the steam generator, the exhaust gases are cooled without pressure. The exhaust pipe from the gas turbine pref. includes a heat exchanger, this being upstream of a chimney branch. A ventilator is installed between the branch and steam generator. The heat exchanger is pref. a recuperative heat exchanger, this being placed directly upstream of the ventilator.
