Mfr. of storage trays or pallets adapted to receive articles of same or dis-similar shape comprises profiling a thermoplastics sheet or film in one shaping step so as to give it a shape conforming with the desired arrangement and form of the articles to be stored. The heated plastics film is shaped over a set of articles upon the table of a thermo-forming machine, the film being heated and thus given a degrees of shape ability such that the articles can be easily removed from, and re-inserted into, the resulting tray or pallet once the film has cooled. The process in suitable for relatively small-quantity prodn. runs. Conventional thermo-forming machines can be used with no, or only minor, adaptations.
