The bridle for a horse, with a Pelham or Kandahar bit, has a rein which divides at the front, under the horses head, with an extension which is non resilient. This terminates in a small ring, connecting to the upper portions for the mouth and nose. In parallel with the non resilient extension is a resilient part. When not subjected to tension, the length is less than the length of the non resilient part. This hooks at one end to one of several eyes on the rein and at the other end at a large ring attached to the nose portions.
