The travelling working platform is formed by stringers with interconnecting rungs, with jibs for widening, in the form of bars running lengthways and crossways, for lateral attachment to the stringer. These are secured against unintentional length variations or twisting, and have end support feet. The widening jib is connected to the stringer of the platform via a detachable coupling which is secured against twisting. This can be in form of a clamp, gripping one stringer with its side pieces, and screwed to the other. This eliminates any need for awkward and dangerous diagonal struts, and permits adjustment both vertically and parallel to the ground.
