An electrical component fitting e.g. an instrument safety fuse or an indicator lamp is easily attached to a thin-walled support panel. The latter is made with a hole which engages a cylindrically-shaped housing made of plastics. The front end of the housing has a flange overlapping the hole and a fixing bracket on the opposite side of the panel to prevent axial displacement. The housing is also protected against angular displacement. The housing (1) is fitted with a collar (10) which is wedged up against a projecting rim (3) of the cylinder at the remote end from the flange and just fits in the clearance hole in the panel. The collar is flexible and produces a tight fit in the hole. The housing is mounted by pressing to obtain a tight fit as a result of the spring effect. The cylindrical section of the housing (4) tapers from the flange towards the projecting rim.
