The electromagnetic deflection coils and mounting are for an 'in-line' three gun colour TV tube. The object being to enable a better colour registration and equalisation of the beams converging on the screen at the top and bottom, and to eliminate colour aberrations over the entire screen area. The yoke assembly comprises deflection coils on a separator and also a convergence control unit. The entire yoke assembly (16) has a convergence unit (40) contained in a cover (42) which fits onto the extended spool separator (30) rear plate (34) so that the convergence unit is integral to the deflection coils. The convergence coils are 'U' magnets with coils around them and are located above and below the tube. The open end of the 'U' is directed towards the electron beams. The deflection coil assembly (20) has an extended coil separator (30) with a pair of saddle formation horizontal coils inside (22, 23) and a pair of saddle formation vertical coils outside (24, 25), a ferrite core (26) surrounds the vertical coils. The ferrite core (26) is in two halves and clamped (28) at the centre.
