Tactile flight control for glider - has transducer strips up at each side of control stick with vibration providing sensory feedback

A tactile flight control has two transducer strips along the handgrip of the control stick which give tactile information related to the dynamic situation of the aircraft. In a glider the relevant information can be rate of climb or descent as well as airspeed. The transducers are linked to a control motor which provides the variable frequency and amplitude vibration, controlled from the flight instrumentation. The pilot does not have to look at the instruments to determine the aircraft attitude and can devote all his attention to flying. The tactile controls provide a rapid response and are monitored correctly even with poor visibility and in a noisy cockpit.
