Gaseous isotope mixtures are separated by mixing them with a gas which extracts from the isotope mixture oscillation energy by a vibratory exchange. One of the mixture constituents is stimulated selectively by a radiation source and is separated based on its changed properties. The mixing is effected by a pattern of parallel nozzles for the isotope mixture which are surrounded by smaller parallel or 45 degrees inclined gas nozzles. The former or both enter the mixing chamber at supersonic velocity.
