The cartridge-type non-return valve screws in a tapped hole with a stepped bore, to shut off flow in one direction between drillings extending axially and radially in relation to the hole. The valve has an annular shoulder on the body with an elastic seal pressed against the step in the hole, while there is an external thread on the portion of largest dia. In this largest-dia. portion (D) a peripheral groove (20) is cut in the threaded section, accommodating a seal (21) of tough elastic plastic or ealstomer. As the valve body (1) is screwed home this flows between the engaging thread turns adjacent to the groove.
