Printing ink contg. pearly titanium oxide pigment - for offset printing giving mother-of-pearl effects on plastics, paper, etc.

Plastics, paper and paper-like materials are printed with mother-of-pearl effects by the usual printing methods, e.g. book or offset printing, in a single operation using a mixt. of an offset printing ink and a shiny pearl pigment. Partic. realistic prints are obtd. e.g. in the reproduction of pearlised lipsticks as the lipstick itself or when applied to the lips. The shiny pearl pigment is e.g. TiO2-mica available as "Iriodin Ti 100 M" (RTM). The offset printing ink pref. contains "Novavit 2211" (RTM). Mixt. pref. comprises 40-80% of the printing ink and 60-20% of the pigment. Dyestuffs may also be present.
