Dental modelling appts. providing wax impression of tooth stump - with wax contained in dip tank having electrically powered heating element and cooling ribs at opposite ends

The appts. comprises a container with a dip tank (10) containing the wax, maintained in the liquid state via heating elements. The latter do not heat the wax uniformly so that in one region (A) the wax is in the liquid state while in a second region (B) it remains below the melting temp. These two regions (A, B) may lie on opposite sides of a plane extending perpendicular to the surface of the wax in the dip tank (10). Pref. the dip tank (10) is made of aluminium and is completely filled with wax, with a heating coil (11) coupled to an AC supply enclosing one end of the dip tank (10). The other end of the dip tank (10) has cooling ribs (15) provided around its outside surface. The housing containing the dip tank (10) has openings at the end receiving the second end of the bath to allow air to circulate around the cooling ribs.
