Electroplating process using alternative treatments - where some electroplated workpieces are tempered prior to passivating

One part of a batch of workpieces is subjected to pretreatment, followed by electroplating, passivating, and then drying. The other part of the batch is subjected to pretreatment, electroplating, tempering, passivating, and finally drying. The workpieces whch are to undergo tempering are transferred, after electroplating, to an auxiliary prodn. line which contains a tempering oven, passivating, and drying stations. The drying operations for both batches are pref. located in the auxiliary prodn. line. The object of the invention is to obtain optimum flowline prodn. without loss of capacity due to the need for two alternative treatments.
