The furniture fitment is suitable for libraries, bookshops and the like, and has pairs of display surfaces (8, 9) situated above and behind each other at various levels. Each pair of display surfaces consists of two slanting shelves (3) at right angles to each other, with a drawer (4) incorporated. The front rim of the pair of display shelves (8, 9) or of the horizontal shelf in front of it acting as the front of a drawer (4) supports a downward-pointing ledge (12), for ease of pulling out the drawer.
