The data acquisition system has data acquisition devices acquiring data regarding stores materials and passing them to the computer for processing. The acquisition devices are each located in an acquisition unit that can be disconnected from the computer. Data relating to the materials are stored in a memory located in the disconnectable autonomous and portable data acquisition unit. This data can be transferred to the comparator when the acquisition unit is connected to the computer. The materials data is stored by connecting the price generator and the acquisition unit. This data connection is accomplished with a data transfer unit that also connects the acquisition unit to the computer.
