The rope-type window/winding mechanism is esp. for motor vehicles, having a closed loop of rope wound round a drum, and a rigid guide rail, between whose ends a driving dog for the window-pane on the freely-accessible rope is fixed. One or more fixing devices secure the rail to the vehicle bodywork. The fixing device is spring-mounted on the rail, and can typically comprise a blade spring, bent in an S-shape and at right angles to the rail.
