Dispenser for stacked plastic cups - has pairs of retaining jaws and solenoid to open lower and close upper jaws and vice=versa

The dispenser is for plastic beakers with an outwardly stepped upper rim portion. It comprises expandable jaws retaining the lowermost beaker of the nested stack, and a second set of expandable jaws above the first set of jaws. A mechanism, such as a solenoid is capable of alternately actuating the two sets of jaws such that initially the lower jaws are closed and the upper jaws open and, when operated, the upper jaws are closed and, therefore, the lower jaws are opened. The jaws may be pivoted at their ends and opened and closed by solenoid-operated rollers moving in contoured slots in the jaws.
