The outer layers of an enveloping garment for use at low temps. have a surface which is free from rustling noises, such as coarse wool, synthetic fibres, etc.. The garment extends from head to foot and has a number of layers of flexible material. On the outside of the enveloping garment in the zones of the feet, the knees, the seat, and the back, heat insulating reinforcements are provided. In the zones of the feet also there is a water repellant layer and in that of the seat there is an upholstered element, for use as a cushion, which can be detached. There are numerous pockets, esp. one for the range finder and safety loops for the weapon. A safety belt with loops is attached at breast height. A system of sliding clasp fasteners above the knees allows the lower part of the garment to be folded back and secured to the shoulders. The garment is heat insulating and to a great extent noiseless and allows its wearer to sit without danger and with his weapon always at the ready.
