The fireproof door in a building has a sealing system. Sealing battens, in recesses on parts of the case facing the door leaf, detach themselvesin the even of fire, moving vertically to seal the gap between the metal door case and leaf surface. The battens (5) are mounted in the stem pieces of the upright parts of the door case (2). When released from the recesses (4), the simultaneously carry out a horizontal movement, to fit against the upright door leaf surfaces(9). Downward sloped protrusions (8) in the recesses can provide deflection for this movement. This prevents penetration by combustion gases.
