Coordinated positioning of coke oven machines - by absolute positioning of pusher-leveller and relative positioning of others

Parent patent described a positioning system for the coordination of all operating machines on a coke oven battery. It is now suggested to equip only the coke pushing and levelling machine with an absolute positioner. The positioning of the other machines is effected either by a relative system based on sensor scanning of marks or by storing the next location in the machine which uses range radar to find it. Arrangement results in a simplification of the decentralised co-ordination of all functions of the coke oven battery machines.
