The forklift truck attachment allows handling and discharge of free-flowing material. It comprises a plate (3) supported on the forks (2), and hinging at the forward edge (4), while a rope (3) is attached to the rear edge. The rope is reeved round a pulley (7) above the plate and a further pulley at the level of the fork hinge (9). It is attached to a point on the top of the truck (1). The length of the rope is such that the uppermost position of the forks and the final tipped position of the plate coincide.
