Support for a furnace roof has a hanger attached to the refractory ceramic block at the top of the roof bloc. The hanger has a vertical bolt with a threaded shank extending from it. Onto this are threaded two support nuts each having its own lock nut. The lower nut rests on top of a helical coil spring which is tensioned to take 75% of the roof block weight. The remaining 25% is taken by the upper nut which rests on the upper surface of the support beam which can be of U or I section. For use on industrial furnaces.
