The equipment determines the binocular refraction of an interchangeable correctional component for each eye. It has a component (13) displaying the respective correctional component (11) to the eye to be examined, and a further one (15) altering the direction of the rays to the pair of eyes. An opticla component (17) turning the rays can be provided in the path of each. The direction-altering component (15) can be arranged to pivot about the centre (22) of the eye.
