Protruding arms have one end engaging bearings adjustably mounted on the stage, and other end supported by pontoons, on the floating stage, hinged so as to minimise the effects of forces in the water. On on side at leasT, the stage has a 'U'-shaped batten (3) or similar, open to the side. This has shank ends (3") bent inwards crossways, with bearings (8) held on them with a fixed support plate (a), with a claming plate (10) detachably fastened to it. Screw connections may serve to press the plates against the shank ends. This enables the booms from the floating stage to be quickly fastened, without deformation.
